As smart devices, cars, homes, offices and cities become more autonomous, leaders across industry, government and the nonprofit sectors are challenged to assure the safety of the technology, build trust among consumers and communities, and defend against cyberattacks. To tackle these challenges, Johns Hopkins University launched the Institute for Assured Autonomy (IAA) in 2019 as a national center of excellence for artificial intelligence and smart autonomous systems.
