Amber Mills

Associate Manager for Programs and Research


Amber Mills Grant is an associate staff member at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and the assistant program manager of the Assured Intelligent Systems Program. In this role, she has aided in the strategic development, program leadership, and technical evaluation of the program’s activities. During her time at APL, Mills served as a systems engineer in the Asymmetric Operations Sector, focusing on operational test and evaluation and integration of solutions for the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. She has extensive knowledge in the integration of technologies into complex, heterogeneous ecosystems.

Mills received a BS in Civil Engineering from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and joined the lab in 2016. She is currently pursuing a master’s in Electrical Engineering through the Whiting School of Engineering’s Engineering for Professionals program.
