Ashutosh Dutta, a member of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Assured Autonomy, was inducted into Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ honor society, on June 3. Membership recognizes those who have demonstrated exceptional professional accomplishments and embody the group’s core values of outstanding scholarship, character, and dedication to lifelong learning and service.
“I am delighted and deeply honored,” Dutta said. “Being part of IEEE Eta Kappa Nu will enable me to engage in a collaborative environment that is open, inclusive, and free from bias while providing high value in our profession. I look forward to the opportunity to engage with HKN members from academia, industry, and government around the world to advance technology for humanity and reduce the digital divide.”
During the induction ceremony, held during the IEEE Region 1 and 2 board meeting in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Dutta was also recognized for receiving the IEEE-USA George F. McClure Citation of Honor late last year.
Dutta is a lecturer at the Johns Hopkins University Information Security Institute, chair of the Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals program in electrical and computer engineering, and a senior scientist and chief 5G strategist at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. He also serves as a Lawrence L. Hafstad Fellow in ISI.
Additionally, he is an IEEE Fellow, IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Lecturer, member-at-large of the IEEE Communications Society, and founding co-chair of IEEE Future Networks.
